Jacketed Filter Housing

The manufacturer of FiltEdge jacketed filter housing offers temperature-controlled filtration solutions for crystals, high viscosity, and slurries that are prone to coagulation.

What Is FiltEdge's Jacketed Filter Housing?

FiltEdge’s jacketed filter housing is a filter that adds a layer of insulated housing unit to the regular filter housing. It provides a stable temperature for your crystalline, high-viscosity, coagulation-prone slurries, keeping the slurry fluid and allowing for smooth, efficient filtration, reducing your consumable scrap rate and avoiding clogging that can cause downtime.
You can use jacketed filter housings to filter hot melt, asphalt, chocolate, highly concentrated polymers, and pharmaceuticals with temperature-sensitive ingredients.
FiltEdge can customize a jacketed filter to fit your production line, either warming or cooling, depending on your needs.

Types of Jacketed Filter Housing

FiltEdge’s jacketed filter housing comes in over a hundred styles, either manual or fully automatic, depending on your production needs. Below are some general categories to help you make a quick selection.

Jacketed Filter Housing Design

FiltEdge In order to guarantee that the jacketed filter housing can have no single low-temperature point, we have adopted a flow channel optimized design, no matter whether you are using thermal conductive oil/steam, or hot water, it can cover the filter core 360° to allow the temperature to fully diffuse, to avoid cooling crystallization of filtered liquids, and to improve your filtration efficiency.

Zero Leakage Jacketed Filter Housing

Fear of inconsistency between the internal temperature of the filter and the jacket, resulting in thermal expansion and contraction of the filter metal housing and tearing of the welded parts due to internal stress, FiltEdge’s jacketed filter housing has been tested by 1.5 times of hydrostatic pressure and third-party X-ray testing of both the internal filter and the jacket. This ensures that your filter can withstand the pressure, has no leaks or breaks, and protects the quality of your product.

Easy Maintenance Jacketed Filter Housing

Our jacketed filter housing has a quick-open structure that saves you time in opening the lid, and the zero dead space design inside makes it easier and more efficient to clean the inside of the filter. Every time you open the cover for maintenance, you can save about 1 hour, which greatly reduces your downtime.

Should I Choose Bag Jacketed Filter Housing Or Cartridge Jacketed Filter Housing To Filter High Viscosity Or Easily Solidified Materials?

This depends on the characteristics of the fluid you are filtering and the precision required. If your liquid flow is large, viscosity is very high, and impurities are many, it is more suitable for Bag Jacketed Filter, because the filter bag has more capacity than the cartridge, it is not easy to be clogged and cause downtime, and the cost of replacing the bag in the later stage is also lower.

If you have higher requirements for precision, the need for thorough clarification or sterilization, it is better to choose the core jacketed filter, because the precision of the cartridge can reach the sub-micron level.

After Filtering High Viscosity Materials, The Inside Of Jacketed Filter Housing Is Difficult To Clean, How Does Your Design Solve This Problem?

Our jacketed filter housing adopts a dead-end design, which is not easy to harbor bacteria and supports CIP cleaning.

Can The Inlet/Outlet, Direction And size Of The Jacketed Filter Housing Be Customized According To Our Existing Piping?

No. The inlet and outlet of Jacketed Filter Housing can be customized according to your piping layout and interface, such as side inlet and bottom outlet, convection type, flat inlet and flat outlet on the same side, and other directions. The interface standard supports ANSI/DIN/JIS flanges, sanitary quick-fit clamps or threads, and the pipe diameter can be customized from 1 inch to 12 inches.

Why Do I Have To Buy A Jacketed Filter Housing When I Can't Just Use A Regular Filter Housing And Wrap It Around An Electrically Heated Belt?

The electric heating will make the filter unevenly heated, the cooling point inside the housing, which will easily lead to the solidification of your filtered liquid, some fluids, some solid particles will affect the filtration effect and filtration efficiency, and it will increase the cost of consumables, as well as the waste of your slurry. Secondly, some working conditions have the hidden danger of flammable and explosive, and the winding electric heating is easy to cause safety accidents.
